Xbus

The Xbus is a modular light vehicle from the German start-up Electric Brands, whose start of series production is already in the near future and is planned for the coming year 2023. The aim of the company based in Itzehoe in Schleswig-Holstein is to bring two innovative electric vehicles onto the market with the Xbus and another vehicle. With regard to the Xbus, six different superstructures (including delivery vehicle, camping bus, craftsman's vehicle, pick-up and off-roader) are planned. The pick-up should have an open loading area, which should also have a tipping function. The prototype of the miniature bus is visually reminiscent of the classic VW bus in bonsai format. However, the concept behind it was developed with regard to increasing traffic density and mobility needs, which, according to the company, require fewer large vehicles. In view of the goal of realizing a clever, "smaller" light vehicle, the Xbus was identified as being less than four meters long, with a loading volume of around 6000 liters and an unladen vehicle weight of 600 kilograms. Depending on the version, a payload of around 1000 kilograms is also possible.
