The model consisted of passenger cars, station wagon, pickup and convertible, were produced at the sites Eisenach, Halle, Dresden and Ludwigsfelde (small truck). The Wartburg was initially powered by a three cylinder two-stroke engine and from 1988 by a four-cylinder VW engine. Known models are Wartburg 353, 355 and Wartburg 1.3. Although some prototypes for new vehicles existed, Wartburg production was abandoned in 1991.
